Privacy Policy — PinWatch
This policy explains how the PinWatch Android app handles information. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
1. Controller
PinWatch is an independently developed application.
Privacy contact: privacy.pinwatch@1gosuapp.com
2. What the app does
PinWatch may:
- Log successful unlocks and failed PIN/pattern attempts.
- Optionally take a front-camera selfie when those events occur (if you enable it).
- Show a local history with basic stats.
- Show a local notification when a failed unlock is logged (if you enable it).
- Let you share a record (text and, if present, the selfie) via the system share sheet.
- Request Device Administrator permission only to observe unlock fail/success (
watch-login). - Run a foreground service (persistent notification) so monitoring can continue in the background.
3. Data generated
| Data | Stored where | Sent over the internet? |
|---|---|---|
| Unlock events (time, type, local metadata) | On-device SQLite | No |
| Selfies (JPEG) | App-private storage | No (unless you share them) |
| Settings (photos, alerts, retention, language, app PIN) | Local preferences | No |
There is no user account.
PinWatch has no backend that receives your photos or history.
We do not sell or share data with advertisers or third-party analytics (the current codebase includes no tracking SDKs).
If you use Share, you choose the destination app (WhatsApp, email, Drive, etc.); PinWatch does not control how that app handles the file.
4. Permissions
- Camera: optional security selfies.
- Notifications: show that protection is active and, if enabled, failed-unlock alerts.
- Device Admin: detect unlock attempts; not used to wipe the device or control other apps.
- Battery optimization exemption: reduce the chance the system kills the monitor.
- Boot completed: resume protection after reboot.
You can revoke permissions in system Settings. Without Device Admin, failed-PIN detection may stop working.
5. Storage and deletion
- Photos are not added to the system Gallery; they stay in app-private storage.
- You can delete individual events, clear history, or rely on retention / storage limits.
- Uninstalling the app removes that local data.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
7. Security
Data stays on the device. The optional app PIN protects access to the PinWatch UI (it does not replace the system lock screen).
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when relevant updates ship. The version published at the Play Console privacy URL prevails.
